• Schengen visa:
- Airport transit visa (A) - a visa valid for transit through the international transit areas of one or more airports of the Schengen Member States.
- Short-stay visa (C) – a visa valid for transit through or an intended stay in the territory of the Schengen Member States of a duration of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period.
• National visa (D) – a visa allowing to enter the Republic of Lithuania and stay in it for a period longer than 90 days. A single entry national visa shall be issued to an alien who has been granted a temporary or permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania. A multiple entry national visa shall be issued to an alien whose purpose of entry into the Republic of Lithuania is long term stay in the Republic of Lithuania.

Visas are issued in visa authorities of the Republic of Lithuania.
The applications for the Schengen visa could be submitted in the Visa Centers in:
Armenia,
Azerbaijan,
Belarus,
China,
Egypt,
India,
Japan,
Kazakhstan,
Nigeria,
Russia,
Turkey,
Ukraine,
United Kingdom,
United States of America,
Uzbekistan.
In countries where Lithuania does not have a visa authority, there is often another Schengen member state that represents Lithuania and where an application can be submitted.
If in the country, which citizen you are of or which residence permit you have, Lithuania does not have a visa authority nor it is represented by the other member state, please contact the nearest or most convenient Lithuanian embassy for you to travel to in order to clarify the location and conditions for lodging an application.
Schengen visa issuance on behalf of the Republic of Lithuania
Diplomatic missions and consular posts of other Schengen member states, which represent Lithuania, can accept visa applications and issue Schengen visas only to the nationals of the country of residence, living in their country and citizens of the third states, who have a residence permit of this state.

• Portugal represents Lithuania in Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, East Timor, Sao Tome and Principe, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cape Verde.
• Slovakia represents Lithuania in China (Shanghai).
• Slovenia represents Lithuania in Montenegro.
• Spain represents Lithuania in Andorra, Bolivia (La Paz, Santa Cruz de la Sierra), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Equador (Quito, Guayaquil), Iran, Kenya, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates.

Required documents
Online visa application form
An alien applying for a Schengen visa shall submit:
1. a completed and signed application form;
2. a valid travel document. Its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Schengen Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Schengen Member States. A travel document shall contain at least two blank pages and it shall have been issued within the previous ten years
3. a colour photo corresponding to the age of an applicant (Photograph Guidelines);
4. a visa fee;
5. supporting documents:
1. documents indicating the purpose of the journey;
2. documents in relation to accommodation, or proof of sufficient means to cover his accommodation;
3. documents indicating that the applicant possesses sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to his country of origin or residence, or for the transit to a third country into which he is certain to be admitted, or that he is in a position to acquire such means lawfully, in accordance with Article5(1)(c) and (3) of the Schengen Borders Code;
4. information enabling an assessment of the applicant's intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa applied for;
5. a document, proving the possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance during the stay(s) on the territory of the Member States with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000. When applying for a multiple entries visa, a document proving the possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of the first intended visit shall be submitted. In addition, an applicant shall sign the statement, set out in the application form, declaring that he/she is aware of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.
An alien applying for airport transit visa shall submit:
1. a completed and signed application form;

2. information enabling an assessment of the applicant's intention not to enter the territory of the Member States.
